What type of STUCK are you?

I have a history of living on hills.

Most of my growing up years we lived on a big, steep hill on a big, steep mountain.

I only remember getting stuck in the snow once on that hill – and it was the night after my youngest sister was born.  My dad and I had driven some of my younger siblings to stay at my oldest sister’s house.  It had started snowing heavily on our way home, and the little 2 door no-wheel drive Chevy Monza couldn’t make it up the now snow-covered hill.  I was 14 at the time – not quite old enough to be helpful and still Sally enough to be scared.

My dad, with the utmost calm and a good dose of frustration, told me to stay put.  He then got out of the car and walked the mile up the hill (both ways, in the snow) to get our truck and probably some men to help – I presume.  The details are a little foggy.

We didn’t have cell phones or on-star or road-side assistance in those days – we solved the problem by just figuring it out.

The last house I lived in was also on a big, steep hill on a big, steep mountain.

In the 5 years I lived there, I only got stuck once. It was a Sunday morning and I was heading out to church in a big storm. I could have stayed home but had commitments that day that needed to be completed by me – and after all, at that point I had owned Subaru’s for over 20 years and had never been stuck.

The ice under the snow on this hill on that morning was relentless – and no match for even my beloved Subaru.

I ended up sliding – slowing – until the car turned 180 degrees and landed in a soft shoulder.

I was turned around, facing the wrong way, on the wrong side of the road…… Stuck.  Far from where I wanted to be.

There are some pretty descriptive synonyms out there for stuck: clung, bound, adhered, fixed, situated, wedged, lodged, stumped, frozen, glued.

We’ve all been there at some point along the way….. Stuck.

Which brings us to this.

(And please believe me when I tell you, this is the toughest part of this new job of mine.)

If you’re reading this blog post on the day I’m putting it out, it is the day I am launching a tool.

I have learned that the name of this tool is an ‘opt-in.’

The tool I made is a short quiz to determine ‘what KIND of stuck you are’ that then directs you to one of 5 free exercises (depending on your results) that you can use as a first step.

Full disclosure, the purpose of the tool, for me, is 1) to add you to my email list so that I can let you know (infrequently!) in the future about things I’m doing and 2) (and most importantly!) to give you another reason to think of me when you’re looking for a life coach.

What YOU get in exchange, immediately – is a free exercise from me to help you get unstuck.  Period.  Whatever you’re stuck on and however long you’ve been that way.

I would love it so much if you would take it, share it, use it.

I would be honored if you would consider me when you’re stuck – I can be the cell phone, on-star, or roadside assistance when you’re on the side of the road, backwards, and a few degrees from where you want to be.

Thank you for reading this post.  Thank you, in advance, for taking the quiz.

That Sunday morning, I used my cell phone to call my sister who lived down the hill.  She had better equipment, better tools, and the push I needed to get put right.  She and her Jeep got me unstuck.

I can’t wait to hear about how I can help you get unstuck!  I promise we can come up with the tools and the push YOU need to get you moving more happily along your road of life.

It’s time.
